Shroud

EIP-5564 . ERC-6538 . Uniswap v4

Pay anyone.
Only they can find it.

Shroud is a token whose every payment can go to a stealth address: a fresh address worked out from the recipient's published keys, which nobody else can tell is theirs. It lands with an announcement only their keys can read.

Two keys and a shared secret make a new address your spending key your viewing key the sender's one-time key a new address

Four moves

  1. Make your keys

One signature in MetaMask makes your spending and viewing keys inside this page. The same wallet makes the same keys anywhere, so there is nothing to back up but the wallet. Wallet

  2. Share one line

Your meta-address, st:eth:0x..., is public. Post it, or register it once in the standard ERC-6538 registry so people can pay your address or ENS name.

  3. Get paid, unseen

A sender works out a new address for you each time and pays it, with ETH for gas if they like. Or they buy SHROUD and the pool's hook delivers it there. Pay privately

  4. Spend without funding

Your inbox finds what is yours. A stealth address that holds ETH spends on its own; one that holds none signs, and anyone submits it for a small tip. Submit a move

What it hides, and what it does not

Hidden

  • Who received a payment. Without the recipient's viewing key, a stealth address is a stranger's.
  • That two payments went to the same person: every payment gets its own address.

Not hidden

  • Who sent it: the sending wallet is public, as on every Ethereum transaction.
  • The amount and the token are public.
  • Timing, and anything you do that links them: sending ETH from your wallet to a stealth address, or gathering several into one wallet.

Shroud is not a mixer. It holds no pool of deposits and does not make anyone anonymous. Read what it hides, and the risks: experimental software, not audited.
